Requirements

This qualification targets learners typically aged 19 and above, with the following entry requirements:

  • Learners must be at least 19 years old at the start of the course.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in literacy, language, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Possession of a minimum Level 3 qualification in their respective area of specialization.

Alternatively, learners may meet the entry criteria if they:

  • Are mature learners over 21 years old, possessing relevant management experience (subject to confirmation with the delivery center prior to enrollment).

English proficiency requirements:

All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the center and externally verified by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. That the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor.

Qualification Structure

The OTHM Level 5 Certificate in Teaching Learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities qualification consists of 3 mandatory units, 36 credits, 360 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and the recommended Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification is a minimum of 100 hours.
